October 8-November 5 (VDOT survey), October 14 (VDOT virtual meeting) The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is studying the Route 17 and Route 360 corridor in Tappahannock from Airport Road to LaGrange Industrial Drive. The study is being done because of the crash history, existing traffic concerns, and current and future traffic congestion. The study will "examine safety issues for motorists, pedestrians, and other travel modes like bicyclists and bus riders" as well as traffic congestion. VDOT will make improvement recommendations for three areas in the corridor. VDOT planners and engineers will engage local stakeholders and planners in the effort to improve the "safety and traffic congestion challenges" in this part of Tappahannock.
