TA Wednesday: Business TA, affordable interns, and free learning opps

Handbook for NN and MP businesses

In January, Bay Consortium Workforce Development Board (BCWDB) released Employer Toolkit: Actionable Strategies to Recruit, Develop, and Retain Talent (PDF). The 66-page doc is for businesses in the Bay Consortium region and GO Virginia Region 6; it includes guidance on workforce and business planning, labor market analysis, and recruitment and retention strategies among many other topics.

Businesses: Engage interns affordably

The Virginia Micro-Internship Experience offers employers a low-risk way to engage college students on short-term, project-based work (15 hours) at absolutely no cost to your organization. Act soon. This program is super popular.

If you need a longer term intern, check out the InternshipsVA 50% Matching Grant Program.
