The Virginia Cooperative Extension Drinking Water Clinics for residents with private water systems (wells, springs, and cisterns) will take place in mid-October. The clinics are operated by local VCE offices. Registration for Lancaster, Northumberland, Richmond, and Westmoreland counties opens in August. Slots are limited so early registration is recommended.
Each test costs $70 and is comparable to testing in the private market, typically costing $300. For those who are not able to afford the $70, VCE has financial assistance available. Email or call (540) 231-9058 for information.
If you are a person with a disability and desire any assistive devices, services or other accommodations to participate in any of these activities, please contact the individual listed above, or Erin Ling at (540) 231-9058, or TDD, (800) 828-1120, during business hours of 9:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday to discuss accommodations five days prior to the event.
Extension service staff provide help interpreting water test results and information about addressing problems.
