The long and the short of it is that two judges ruled that the Trump administration must continue funding SNAP during the government shutdown. What does this mean for people who get SNAP on the NNK? They will have to rely on food pantries at least through Monday, November 3.
As of 4:00 pm Friday, October 31, the state of Virginia has not announced any updates to VENA, the state operated “SNAP.”
Free food on the NNK provides information about traditional and non-traditional food pantries as well as free meal events. The information can be used by those needing food and those wanting to provide food to others.
