The notice:
Notice is hereby given that Applications are being accepted for filling a vacancy on the Northumberland County Board of Supervisors for District 5. The remaining members of the Board of Supervisors are authorized to appoint a qualified voter of District 5 to complete the remainder of the term which expires December 31, 2023. The Board of Supervisors invites qualified voters of District 5 to apply. Persons interested in being considered for this appointment must submit a cover letter, resume, and completed application to the County Administrator by 12:00 p.m. on September 8, 2023. Prospective applicants should keep in mind that the position of County Supervisor requires filing a Statement of Economic Interest disclosing any financial interests and taking an Oath of Office. After review of the applications, the Board may call individuals in for further interviews prior to making the appointment. The general election to be held on November 7, 2023, will determine who fills the District 5 seat in January 2024.
