Volunteers play a major role in oyster gardening and Chesapeake Bay Foundation is looking for a few good folks to become oyster parents.
Volunteer oyster gardeners raise baby oysters in a wire cage hung off private or a public waterfront docks. After a year, the fully grown oysters will be planted on sanctuary reefs along the Chesapeake Bay.
