Government meetings, events

  • Town of Kilmarnock Town Council committees meet Monday, June 6 (PDF) starting at 3:00 pm. Meetings are held at the Kilmarnock Town Hall (1 N. Main St.)

  • The Lancaster County Wetlands Board meets Thursday, June 9 at 9:30 am in the BOS Meeting Room (County Administration Building, Main Floor, 8311 Mary Ball Rd, Lancaster, VA ) and virtually. See the June 9 public hearing sked and remote access instructions.

  • The Town of Kilmarnock Planning Commission meets Monday, June 13 at 7:00 pm at the Kilmarnock Town Hall (1 N. Main St.).

  • The Kilmarnock Town Council seeks public comment on the proposed body camera policy (PDF). The deadline for comments is June 18. Deliver comments via email, phone (804-435-1552 option 1), or in person at Town Hall, 1 North Main St. The Town Council will hold a public hearing on the proposal Monday, June 20 at 7:00 pm. The hearing takes place at Kilmarnock Town Hall (1 N. Main St.).

  • The Kilmarnock Town Council is holding a public hearing on four ordinances—(i) Budget, (ii) Real Estate Tax Rate, (iii) Other Tax Rates, (iv) Fee Rates—Monday, June 20. The hearing will be held at the Kilmarnock Town Hall (1 N. Main St.)

  • The Kilmarnock Town Council has called a special meeting for the second reading of the FY2023 Budget including four ordinances. This meeting will be held Monday, June 27 at 7:00 pm at the Kilmarnock Town Hall (1 N. Main St.)

  • The Lancaster County Board of Supervisors seeks interested and qualified volunteers to fill board, etc. vacancies. Openings: Board of Zoning Appeals, Historic Resources Commission, Building Code Appeals Board, Economic Development Authority, Lancaster County Broadband Authority, Middle Peninsula/Northern Neck Community Services Board, and Citizens’ Advisory Committee on Public Access and Working Waterfronts.

  • Lancaster County Public Schools continues to organize free Covid-19 drive-through testing Saturdays from 10:00 am-Noon at Lancaster Middle School (191 School St., Kilmarnock, VA).

    On November 8, 2022 elections will be held for Kilmarnock’s Mayor, three Town Council positions and a Special Election to complete a remaining two year term.

    The deadline to file is June 21, 2022 at 7:00 PM for the Mayoral and Town Council roles.

    There is also a Special Election for a remaining two year term that ends in 2026. Candidates for the Special Election have until August 19, 2022 at 5:00 PM to register.
