Lancaster County

- The Lancaster County Board of Supervisors is meeting Thursday, November 16 at 7:00 pm in the Lancaster County Administration Building (8311 Mary Ball Rd, Lancaster). The agenda includes a public input session, presentations by Northern Neck Electric Cooperative on the proposed rate increase and VDOT, public hearings, administrative and financial reviews, and a closed meeting if necessary.

Northumberland County
- Northumberland Public Library has a new website and URL, https://www.northumberlandpubliclibrary.org/.
- The Northumberland County Public Schools announced October 27 (PDF) the appointment of Brittney Kanard as Data Specialist.
- The Coalition for Healthy Virginia Communities (CHVC), Three Rivers Health District, and the MPNN CSB Prevention, Health & Wellness Division are holding the town hall meeting Facing the Impact of Opioid Misuse, Thursday, November 16 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Light of Christ Anglican Church (9500 Northumberland Hwy, Heathsville). Join the sponsors and community members for a presentation and discussion on the impact of opioid misuse. Refreshments will be provided.

Richmond County
- The Richmond County Public Library will be closing at Noon Wednesday, November 22 and will re-open Monday, November 27 with regular business hours.
Westmoreland County
- Central Rappahannock Regional Library has released a new mobile app; it's available for Apple and Android operating systems. With it, users can browse bestsellers and other new titles, check on an item's availability, place holds on materials, connect with librarians online, and use the app as a library card.
- The Westmoreland County Board of Supervisors Land Use meeting takes place Monday, November 20 at 1:30 pm at the George D. English, Sr. Memorial Building (111 Polk St, Montross). Read the agenda (PDF).

- Health care professionals on the Northern Neck are encouraged to participate in the Tuesday, November 21, 10:00-11:00 am Cafe Connection at Visiting Angels Sage Cafe (68 South Main St, Kilmarnock). This networking event takes place every third Tuesday of the month.
- The Northern Neck Soil & Water Conservation District board meets Wednesday, December 13 at 6:30 pm at the Indian Creek Yacht and Country Club. The meeting will be followed by the annual Holiday Dinner.
- The Virginia Conservation Network and its partners are sponsoring Virginia General Assembly Preview Saturday, December 2 from 8:30 am - 12:30 pm in Richmond. Friends of the Rappahannock is co-sponsoring the watch party at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg. All are invited "to learn about priority environmental topics and discuss our collective approach to advancing policy in the upcoming legislative session." RSVP.
- VIMS professor Dr. Kevin Weng will present a talk titled "Who’s chasing my fish? Distribution, habitat and environmental limits in a changing ocean." Wednesday, November 29 from 12:25-1:25 pm at the Rappahannock Community College Warsaw and Glenns campuses (auditoriums). The public is encouraged to attend.
