- Blackbaud's new study Blackbaud Peer-to-peer Fundraising Study: Your Ultimate Source For Fundraising Data provides a wealth of information on peer-to-peer fundraising. What is peer-to-peer fundraising? It's the new-ish phrase to describe a-thon events—walk-a-thons, dance-a-thons, bike-a-thons. The Blackbaud study "collected and analyzed peer-to-peer fundraising stats from 171 different organizations, which collectively hold 16,855 events across the United States and Canada, with 10.9 million participants raising over $1.23 billion online." The report is free.
- DataSpeak: Findings from the 2016 National Survey of Children's Health takes place Monday, October 30 from 2:00-3:00 pm. The webinar will present findings from the redesigned 2016 National Survey of Children’s Health. The survey examines the physical and emotional health of children from birth through 17 years of age. Emphasis is placed on factors that may be related to the well-being of children, including medical homes, family interactions, parental health, school experiences, and neighborhood safety.

Almost two-thirds of schoolchildren would not mind if social media had never been invented, a survey has indicated. The study provides evidence of a growing backlash among young people disillusioned with the negative aspects of the technology, such as online abuse and fake news.
