Lancaster County

  • Lancaster officials anticipate broadband hopes will improve
  • Learn about opioid misuse Tuesday, August 29 from 3:00-4:00 pm at Lancaster Community Library (16 Town Centre Dr, Kilmarnock). Sponsors are Coalition for Health Virginia Communities and the Middle Peninsula-Northern Neck Community Services Board.

Richmond County

  • The Rappahannock Community College Environmental Sustainability Committee and Math and Science Club will be holding the seminar "Potable Water in the Northern Neck" Wednesday, August 30, 12:25 to 1:25 pm at the Warsaw (52 Campus Drr, Warsaw) and Glenns campusus. The invited speaker is Dr. Lynton Stuart Land. Dr. Land will present on the issue of potable water in the Northern Neck, including the unsustainable pumping in the region. Dr. Stewart is a member of the Northumberland Association for Progressive Stewardship (NAPS). The event will represent the first collaboration between RCC's Environmental and Sustainability Committee and NAPS.   • Westmoreland County Public Schools' beginning of school events will be held:

    • Monday, August 28, 6:00 pm (Montross Middle, 6th Grade Orientation)

  • The Westmoreland County Triad/S.A.L.T. Council meets on the 4th Wednesday of every month at 10:00 am in the Sheriff's Office training room. The public is encouraged to attend to learn about current scams, trends and to provide input on how Triad can help older residents in the community and suggest topics for upcoming presentations.
