In all my years doing public policy work, the most important tool was the meeting box. All the things I needed for a meeting of almost any size were in this box. Going to a sponsored meeting or training? Grab the meeting box and go. That sure beats gathering everything you need every time you have a meeting.

In the past, I put everything in a plastic box with a handle. These days, since I do fewer events and am only support staff, I carry a shoe box-size meeting box.
